5 Things You Need To Know To Get The Most Out Of Your Waxing Service

It’s summertime! That means teeny tiny bikinis, short shorts, and gorgeous sun dresses. Guys get in on the action as well, with bare chests being the norm at beaches and pools all around town. Did you know that waxing services basically triple during the summer months? It’s true, more and more body conscious folks are making appointments for waxing services at American Institute of Beauty. If you are one of those interested in coming in to get waxed to perfection, here are 5 things you need to know to get the most out of your waxing service.

Tip #5: Make Sure The Hair Is Long Enough

Hair needs to ideally be a little grown out. That means about 2-3 weeks of uninterrupted growth in the leg, underarm, and bikini area. If it’s too short, the wax won’t be able to do its job getting to the root growth of the hair.

Tip #4: Be Well Exfoliated

Leading up to the appointment, make sure you have exfoliated a few times in the days before your service. This will make your skin easier to work with, so that the wax can grab all of the hair much better.

Tip #3: Skip Moisturizer The Day Of The Appointment

You don’t want anything in the way of the wax doing its job. If your skin is overly moisturized, it’s going to be harder to get that good smooth wax done.

Tip #2: Take an OTC Pain Reliever Before Your Waxing Service

Taking an over the counter pain reliever may be an option ahead of your waxing appointment but always consult with your doctor before taking any medication. This may help to fight pain when taken about an hour before, if your skin is particularly sensitive. Keep in mind, the waxing procedure will go rather quickly. The discomfort level, especially during a Brazilian which gets all of those unwanted hairs, can be a little unpleasant if you aren’t used to it.

Tip #1: Relax!

This is easier said than done, but for first time waxing clients, the most important piece of advice is to just relax. The more at ease you are, the better the procedure will go. If you need to listen to music during the waxing service, or would rather hear the soothing voice of your esthetician, it’s up to you. Practice some deep breathing during the service to help get your body in a more zen place. That way it won’t be so painful and you’ll have the smooth gorgeous skin you desire to show off your summer best.
