Celebrate the Red, White and Blue with an Easy Summer Look
The July 4th holiday weekend is the perfect time to show off your incredible hair styling skills. Be bold and patriotic as we celebrate the day the United States gained its independence. Start off by using the American flag as inspiration and move on from there.
Brunettes Celebrate with Red, White and Blue Hair
Bold hair color is the perfect way to celebrate the upcoming 4th of July holiday. For instance, brunettes may want to try out Redken’s Midnight Edge look. The edgy style features dark blue and silver highlights on top of dark hair. Another option from Redken is Split Dye Hair. Panels of hair are first lightened with bleach before color, like a patriotic hue, is applied.
Inspired Blonde Hair
If you already have blonde hair, then you may want to do ombre hair color for Independence Day. Add deep red dye followed by a deep blue color to the bottom section of the hair. You could also dye the roots red, keep the middle blonde, and then color the tips blue.
Redhead Fun
For red hair, leave the base color alone and add a few fresh details for the ultimate Independence Day look. You could put in a few highlighted strands of blue and blonde after first bleaching out the red color. An alternative could be to use a few white and blue extensions. Hair extensions are an option for all hair colors and types—especially for those who may not want to dye their hair.
Add Glow Sticks for the Ultimate 4th of July Hairstyles
Most July 4th parties take place at night. A simple and fun way to style your hair is to put the strands up into an updo or even a messy bun. Once the hair is secured with pins, you could weave glow sticks through the style for a fun-loving look. Use smaller glow sticks for more flexibility, like glow bracelets.
Star Braids
Transform hair into a canvas by creating star-shaped braids. By sectioning off portions of hair and braiding, you can then later crisscross the pieces to create a star shape at the crown. To make the star stand out even more, you could use red, white and blue ribbon to weave through each piece. If you want something simpler, the ribbon could also be used to secure simpler hairstyles such as pigtails and ponytails. Another idea is to get a flag-themed bow to put at the top and base of a French braid style.
