A Career With Marketability

Do you have a passion for skin care? Do you love to do your nails? Are you following all the hottest manicuring trends on Instagram? Is your skin care routine tailored to your skin type and the season? If you answered, “Yes!” to any of these questions, a career as a full specialist might be right for you!

In this program we combine the skills of an esthetician and a nail technician to help you become a well-rounded beauty professional who has been trained in skin and nails!

Full Specialist Program FAQs

If you want to pursue a career in beauty that you love, you’re going to have some questions about how to get started. American Institute of Beauty (AIB) is here to help inform your decision; a decision that could change your life!

What is a Full Specialist?

In the state of Florida, a full specialist is someone who is licensed to provide full speciality services. They are educated in a combination of the nail specialty and facial specialty. That means you can provide a variety of esthetic services like facials and waxing as well as nail services. Full sets, manicures, and nail art are just a few of the things full specialists can provide under this license!

Why Should I Learn Full Speciality?

You may be wondering, “Why should I learn full speciality vs. pursuing an individual license as an esthetician or nail specialist?” That’s a great question! Pursuing a license as a full specialist allows you to learn two sets of skills instead of just one! You can become a master at both skin care and nails.

Once you’ve mastered both disciplines of the license, you can choose to specialize in either. You’ll become more marketable because you can provide both! Many employers and clients like to have an all-in-one beauty provider, and that could be you with a full specialist license!

How Long is the Full Specialist Program?

The full specialist program at AIB is 600 clock hours. 300 hours are dedicated to teaching you skin care theoretical and practical skills, and the remaining 300 hours are concentrated on the theory and practice of nail care.

How Long Will It Take to Complete the Program?

You can complete our full specialist program in as little as four months*! You could be on your way to a fulfilling career in less than a year!

*Based on a full-time schedule.

What Class Schedules Are Available?

Both our St. Petersburg and Largo campuses offer the full specialist program on a full-time or a part-time day schedule. Our Largo location also offers a part-time evening program for those who have other obligations in life. We understand that school should fit into your current lifestyle, not the other way around!
