The holidays are an especially lucrative time of year for salons. However, to get the most benefit from this season, you need to know how to market your products and services most effectively. Use the holiday marketing tips below to increase your salon business by 20 to 25 percent.
1. Put your products on display.
During the holiday season, new and established customers may be looking for gifts to buy for friends and family. Create a holiday display during this season that features some of your top-selling products, as well as seasonal products or offers. Make the display as festive as possible by including holiday decor, and showcase the products that increase your revenue most.
2. Offer special gifts.
Make your customers feel extra special during the holiday season by offering special gifts or extra services for free. Depending on your needs and budget, you could offer these perks to every customer, to new customers, and/or to loyal customers only. These extras make your customers more likely to return and invest in additional products and services.
3. Run holiday promotions.
Another way to boost business at your salon during the holiday season involves running holiday promotions. For example, if your salon sells gift cards, consider discounting these cards slightly for the holiday season. You can also offer buy-one-get-one-free deals on products, or a free gift for customers who spend a certain amount of money on products. Make sure all of these promotions have a clear start date and end date to inspire a sense of urgency.
4. Invest in advertisement.
Investing in marketing is important throughout the year. However, during the holidays, potential customers are more likely to be looking for a place to purchase gifts and/or spend some time pampering themselves. For this reason, investing in some extra advertising services during this season is recommended. Be sure to advertise your salon through multiple channels, including local media, social media websites, brochures and more. If your budget allows, consider altering your marketing materials to reflect the holiday season.
Don’t let the holidays go to waste. By following the tips above and being proactive, you can increase your salon’s profitability, and build your clientele during this exciting time of year.
