What is Cut Out Hunger?
Cut Out Hunger is one way that American Institute of Beauty gives back to our community each year. Over the last 18 years, tens of thousands of pounds of food have been collected and donated directly back to local charities to feed families during the holiday season.
How Does It Work?
The Cut Out Hunger drive isn’t just about giving food donations to the community, it is also about providing services in return. If you donate 3 or more canned goods or non-perishable items, you will receive a FREE haircut. If you donate 6 or more canned goods, you will receive 50% off ANY of our services. Often, beauty services are viewed as a luxury, but not for American Institute of Beauty. Our salon and spa services are kept at affordable costs because we feel they should be more accessible. This becomes even more clear during our Cut Out Hunger event. Take time for yourself to relax while knowing you are doing good and giving back to your community, too.
Are you busy with work or your family and maybe aren’t able to stop in to receive your service during the Cut Out Hunger event dates? No problem! We’ve got you covered. As long as you drop off your donation to one of our campus locations during the 3-day event, you will be given a “raincheck” coupon to come back at a later date for your beauty or barber service.

Who Benefits From the Donations?
All donations collected from the Cut Out Hunger food drive go towards the Hope Villages of America, Inc. (formerly RCS Pinellas) a non-profit here in Pinellas County, Florida. The non-profit’s mission is to assist those that are facing hunger, homelessness, domestic violence, and lack of basic needs by connecting them with reliable services in our community. Each year they feed approximately 70,000 individuals, distribute about 6 million pounds of food, and support nearly 100 other local food banks and pantries. Beyond their food distribution services, Hope Villages also offers housing sustainability, which helps those facing homelessness return to self-sufficiency. They provide individuals that may be in a domestic abuse situation safety, security, and support. Hope Villages offers many additional services through collaborations and partnerships with other local non-profits as well.
